About the role
St Helen ward is a 26 bed unit that caters for patients with acute medical and chronic illnesses, the ward cares for patients at all stages of their cancer journey.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide evidence -based, direct patient care to patients receiving chemotherapy and haematology treatments
- Develop and maintain therapeutic relationships with patients, carers, and healthcare professionals
- Participate in staff and patient education programs to enhance knowledge and skills
- Contribute to a collaborative and respectful team environment, promoting positive outcomes for patients and colleagues
What you bring
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Recent acute care experience in medical or Oncology/ Haematology ward nursing is preferred
- Post- graduate qualification in Oncology is highly desirable but not essential
- Strong customer service skills
- Proficient computer skills
- Ability to think critically and make sound judgements in a fast-paced environment
