About the role
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Full-Time chef to join our dynamic team at Calvary in Anglesea. The Chef will be responsible for planning and preparation of meals, while ensuring the individual needs of our residents are being met and makes certain that each resident is offered choice.
Your main duties will include:
Plans, prepares and oversees the preparation of daily meals and beverages for residents that meets the individual needs of residents including special dietary requirements, allergies and culturally specific requirements
Assume responsibility for the effective running of the kitchen in the absence of Home Manager or Chef Manager including leading the team to ensure effective outcomes
Liaise with the Clinical Leadership team of the home to ensure resident dietary requirements are reviewed and appropriate dietary interventions are documented as required
Actively monitors all areas relating to the hospitality environment as work is performed, ensuring that any hazards (e.g. spills, breaks etc.) are addressed promptly and areas are kept clean and slip free
About you
TAFE Hospitality (Commercial Cookery), Certificate Level III or Certificate IV in Food Studies (or working towards)
Experience in bulk cooking and food preparation
Experience in aged care or residential setting or healthcare setting
Ability to plan menus to meet standards e.g. Food Act and Occupational Health and Safety
Ability to order food to meet requirements of menu cycle and keep within budget
Completion of (HLTFSE001 – Follow Basic Food Safety Practices) or willingness to obtain
