Are you looking for a rewarding role supporting patient care in a busy hospital environment? Calvary Mater Newcastle is seeking a motivated and reliable Wardsperson to join our Emergency Department team, helping deliver safe, respectful and high-quality care to our patients and community.

About the role:

As a Wardsperson in the Emergency Department, you will play an important role in supporting clinical teams by providing safe patient transport and maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for patients, visitors and staff. 

Your main duties will include:

• Transport, clean and restock patient equipment as required
• Ensure trolleys, wheelchairs and beds are available and safe for use
• Assist with bed moves and preparation of clinical areas
• Identify and report faulty equipment or hazards promptly

About you:

• Ability to work effectively as a team member in a fast paced environment, with periods of very high demand and activity
• Commitment to providing high quality work in a timely manner
• Demonstrated knowledge of manual handling principals
• Demonstrated effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
