About the role
The Maintenance Officer reports to the Buildings and Infrastructure Manager and works independently to provide reactive and planned preventive maintenance.
This position will contribute to the supervision and assistance to contractors and is required to exercise independent judgment on routine matters.
There is a requirement to participate in an on call roster providing service and advice out of normal working hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all required maintenance duties and tasks, including work relating to potential relevant refurbishment.
- Undertake a daily operational and maintenance check of all plant, equipment and buildings
- Perform general maintenance / handyman duties or work across other trade areas within skill level, as required
- Demonstrate understanding of the relevant Australian Standards associated with maintenance of a private hospital facility
- Participate in after hours on call service, performing after hours maintenance /emergency tasks as required
What you bring
- Relevant Trade experience desirable but not necessary (Plumbing, Mechanical fitter, electrical or Carpentry)
- Previous experience in commercial facility maintenance, preferably hospitals
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment and independently as required
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills
