Calvary is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to drive the national business development agenda across our private hospital portfolio. This pivotal role shapes a coordinated, future‑focused approach to hospital growth by strengthening relationships with Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs), referrers, and key health system partners.
As Head of Business Development – Hospitals, you will build the frameworks, tools, and governance that enable consistent, mission‑aligned growth across regions. You will champion initiatives that expand priority clinical service lines, increase market share, enhance theatre utilisation, and accelerate VMO engagement across the network.
Working closely with Regional Chief Operating Officers, General Managers, clinical leaders, and national strategy and finance teams, you will ensure business development activity is data‑driven, operationally integrated, and accountable for measurable commercial outcomes.

Lead the development and delivery of business development strategy across Calvary’s private hospital portfolio

Identify, assess, and advance new service line opportunities, partnerships, and commercial ventures aligned with Calvary’s mission and strategic direction

Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across the health system, government, and clinical leadership to strengthen Calvary’s market position

Provide market insights, analysis, and recommendations to inform investment decisions, service planning, and network growth priorities

Senior leadership experience in business development, strategy, or health service planning within a hospital or acute care environment

Proven ability to build, influence, and convert complex stakeholder relationships at executive and government levels

Strong commercial acumen, including experience developing and evaluating business cases and financial models

Deep understanding of the health landscape, including public–private dynamics and regulatory frameworks

Experience within a Catholic or values‑based health organisation (highly regarded)

Tertiary qualifications in health management, business, or a related field
