About the role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Home Manager leads a multidisciplinary team made up of clinical, and support roles that ensure a holistic approach to care within the home. The ideal candidate will ensure that the team responds to the whole person by partnering with our residents, families and carers on a daily basis to meet the individual needs and goals of our residents. This is a Permanent Full-Time Position for an ideal candidate looking to be part of an organisation that offers a range of aged care services complemented by engaging lifestyle.
Your main duties will include:
- Provide leadership and direction of the quality of care and experience provided across the home
- Ensure appropriate assessments, care planning and case conferencing is occurring throughout the home
- Ensure that Care Plans are owned by the resident and are reviewed after any significant change - implement processes to regularly gain feedback and consultation from families and carers
- Oversee and monitor the preadmission and admission processes to ensure appropriate seamless transition of care into the home
- Create and maintain a culture where all employees are enabling residents to make informed decisions about their care
- Be aware of, and understand the homes high-risk residents or residents with complex needs including but not limited to any form of deterioration, palliation or unmet needs
About you
- Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA - No restrictions or conditions.
- Ability to build rapport and maintain solid working relationships with identified key relationships
- High level of understanding of the aged care sector with the ability to identify changing trends and to ensure best practice
- Clear thinker with lateral problem-solving skills. An ability to convert complex ideas into simple, understandable and workable actions to ensure positive outcomes
- Project coordination skills and experience in successfully implementing projects
- Sound operational knowledge of computerised systems used within the industry as well as the ability and willingness to learn and adapt to new systems introduced into the business from time to time
- Understanding of and ability to manage human resource issues with effective negotiation skills
