About the role
 

Calvary Riverina Hospital, a major regional private hospital, is seeking suitably qualified junior doctors to join the hospital’s Junior Medical Officer (JMO) program. The Calvary JMO program is targeted at junior doctors who have successfully completed at least one post graduate year in an Australian Public Hospital and is seeking to further their experience in clinical medicine/surgery.

The private hospital JMO (PGY3) program is facilitated by senior specialist consultants providing individualised supervision. The program is full time and features four 13 week rotations which may include:

  • Critical Care & Cardiology
  • Palliative Care
  • Rehabilitation
  • General Surgery/Urology
  • General Medicine/Afterhours (12pm-8.30pm)

The terms offered will enhance the junior doctor’s experience and skills across a broad set of competencies in a supported environment of supervised clinical practice.

 
Your main duties will include:
  • Patient Care & Clinical Management: Provide comprehensive medical assessment, treatment, and follow-up for inpatients,  ensuring high standards of care and timely communication with VMOs

  • Coordination & Support: Assist VMOs during ward rounds, procedures, and emergency cases; participate in multidisciplinary care and ensure accurate documentation and handover

  • Professionalism & Continuous Improvement: Uphold hospital policies, maintain patient confidentiality, and engage in ongoing learning, quality assurance, and clinical governance activities

About you
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • Current Police and Working with Children Check
  • Current ALS Certification
  • Evidence of current and appropriate Visa approval to work in Australia
  • Demonstrated successful completion 1 post graduate year in Australian Public Hospital and all required competencies
  • Demonstrated high quality clinical practice
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and clinical experience
  • High level verbal and written communication skills
