As a Laboratory Technician you will be responsible for processing clinical toxicology blood samples. The Laboratory Technician is expected to:

• Process specimens as outlined in specific manual.
• Coordinate with Senior staff to ensure timely processing of above specimens.
• Maintain accurate temperature logs for all Toxicology Freezers.
• Coordinate with courier for the collection of specimens as per requirements.
• Maintain adequate levels of laboratory kits as required.

Selection criteria

• Relevant Science, Pathology or Laboratory qualification.
• Demonstrated experience in biological laboratory techniques.
• Demonstrative accuracy in record keeping and data entry.
• Able to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity.
• Ability to work independently and as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
• Demonstrated effective communication and organisational skills.

Employment details:

Salary Classification: Technical Officer - Grade 2, Year 1 - 4

Remuneration: $44.05 to $49.83 per hour + super + annual leave loading
