About the role
We are seeking a reliable and proactive Maintenance Officer / Gardener to join our team on a permanent part-time basis (Tuesdays and Fridays, 8:00am–4:00pm). This role supports our full-time Maintenance Officer by assisting with general maintenance, repairs, and gardening tasks around our aged care facility, and provides coverage during periods of leave. You’ll help ensure the facility and grounds are safe, well-presented, and enjoyable for our residents, staff, and visitors. This is a rewarding opportunity to use your practical skills in a caring environment and contribute to the comfort and wellbeing of our residents.
Your main duties will include:
Carry out general maintenance and repair tasks across the facility to ensure a safe, functional, and well-presented environment.
Maintain gardens and outdoor areas, including mowing, pruning, planting, and general upkeep to create pleasant spaces for residents and visitors.
Support the full-time Maintenance Officer with daily tasks and provide coverage during periods of leave to ensure continuity of maintenance services.
About you
Hands-on and practical, with experience in general maintenance, gardening, or a similar role.
Reliable and self-motivated, able to work independently and manage tasks effectively across two set days per week.
Safety-conscious, with a strong understanding of safe work practices and attention to detail.
Friendly and respectful, with a genuine interest in contributing to a positive environment for older residents.
Flexible and team-oriented, willing to support the full-time Maintenance Officer and step in during periods of leave.
