About the Program
The Calvary OnePlus Graduate Nurse Transition Program (GNTP) is a national program designed to support graduates in building:
- Clinical knowledge
- Practical skills
- Professional behaviours for lifelong learning
Through structured support and reflection, the program enables graduates to make evidence-based decisions and develop confidence in practice.
This 12-month program provides experience across multiple clinical settings in a supportive environment.
What the Program Offers
- Structured transition program with 2 × 6-month rotations including:
- Medical
- Surgical
- Perioperative
- Mental Health
- 0.8 FTE (32 hours/week minimum)
- Dedicated New Graduate Coordinator
- Regular clinical supervision
- Opportunity to nominate preferred rotations

Mandatory Requirements
- Registration as an Enrolled Nurse with AHPRA
- Valid work rights in Australia
- Must be a new graduate:
- No previous GNTP participation
- Less than 3 months employment as an enrolled nurse
- Availability to work minimum 32 hours/week

- Describe a time you used communication and interpersonal skills to support a team

Additional Requirements
- Completion of pre-employment checks including:
- Reference checks
- Criminal history check
- Work rights verification
- WWCC (if applicable)
- Health assessment (may include drug and alcohol testing)
- Provide evidence of required immunisations:
- Tuberculosis screening
- Hepatitis
- Diphtheria
- Tetanus
- Varicella
- Must hold or obtain AHPRA registration before program commencement
- Must have completed a Bachelor of Nursing within 12 months of start date
- Must be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold full work rights
