About the role
 
Calvary Riverina has the exciting opportunity for a Nurse Unit Manager (Level 2) to join our clinical leadership team as manager of our orthopaedic ward.  This is a full time position working across business hours Monday - Friday. 
 
Your main duties will include:
  • Clinical leadership & patient care oversight, ensuring safe, high‑quality orthopaedic care while setting clinical standards and supervising nursing practice
  • Staff management & workforce planning including rostering, recruitment, performance management, education, and ensuring appropriate skill mix on the ward.

  • Management of ward flow (admissions, discharges, bed allocation), oversight of resources and budgets, and drive quality improvement, compliance, and patient safety initiatives.

About you
  • Relevant tertiary allied health or nursing qualifications
  • Current AHPRA registration
  • A minimum of 5 years post graduate experience in public and/or private health sector
  • Proven experience at senior management level and leadership of diverse interdisciplinary teams
  • Demonstrated understanding of quality improvement and accreditation standards
  • Demonstrated understanding of contemporary rehabilitation practice and programs
  • Proven track record of managing key performance indicators within budget
  • Proven experience in change management, facilitating a positive workplace culture and workforce engagement
