  • Remuneration: $34.46-$35.54 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options.

THE ROLE:

The Patient Liaison Officer plays a pivotal role within the Patient Services Department, acting as a key link between patients and the hospital’s administrative and clinical teams. This role is primarily responsible for maximising private and compensable patient revenue across the hospital by supporting patients through their healthcare journey and ensuring that all relevant information is accurately captured and communicated.

The officer provides essential guidance to patients, helping them make informed decisions about their care options. Responsibilities include collecting and verifying patient details, facilitating communication between departments, and identifying opportunities to enhance the overall patient care experience.

DUTIES:

  • Ensure all admission forms are correct and complete
  • Work proactively using Revenue Portal to investigate opportunities for revenue maximisation.
  • Act as a point of contact for patients and relatives about any aspect of their election status
  • Liaise with Health Funds to capture missing patient health fund information

ABOUT YOU:

  • Demonstrated experience in administration duties in a health care environment. 
  • Computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook. 
  • Excellent communication, customer service and people skills and the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations and information. 
  • Demonstrated high level of attention to detail, and use of initiative in prioritising a busy workload without direct supervision. 
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality at all times.
  • Demonstrated commitment to own personal and professional development.
