Perioperative Services Manager- CCDH
Calvary Central Districts Hospital is entering an exciting period of transition and growth. As a key private hospital in Adelaide’s northern region, CCDH is strengthening its service profile, deepening VMO partnerships, and positioning the Perioperative Suite for the future.
We are seeking a dynamic and commercially astute Perioperative Services Manager (POSM) to join our leadership team and help shape the future of procedural services during this pivotal phase.
The Role
In collaboration with the Director of Clinical Services (DCS), the POSM provides strategic and operational leadership to the Perioperative Suite.
This role is central to:

Building strong, sustainable Visiting Medical Officer (VMO) engagement

Optimising theatre utilisation and procedural throughput
-
Strengthening financial and operational viability
-
Supporting service growth aligned to hospital strategy
As a member of the Nursing Leadership Team, you will contribute to broader strategic planning and performance, ensuring perioperative services are safe, efficient, patient-centred and commercially sustainable.
Key Responsibilities

Lead day-to-day operations of the Perioperative Suite

Drive theatre efficiency, scheduling optimisation and productivity

Align workforce capability with activity demand

Contribute to long-term service planning and growth initiatives

Partner closely with Surgeons and Anaesthetists to strengthen relationships

Support retention, growth and recruitment of VMOs
-
Identify opportunities to expand procedural services
-
Facilitate collaborative problem-solving around utilisation and performance
-
Balance activity, cost management and workforce planning
-
Monitor KPIs including utilisation, productivity and quality metrics
-
Support sustainable service models during a period of transition
-
Ensure safe, high-quality, patient-centred theatre operations
-
Embed best practice standards and continuous improvement initiatives
About You
You are a confident healthcare leader who thrives in environments of change and opportunity. You understand the commercial realities of private healthcare and can build trusted partnerships with VMOs while maintaining operational discipline.
You will bring:

Current AHPRA registration (Registered Nurse)

Significant perioperative leadership experience

Demonstrated success in theatre utilisation and operational optimisation

Strong relationship management skills with Surgeons and Anaesthetists

Financial literacy and experience managing budgets

A collaborative leadership style with strategic capability
