About the role
 

Psychologists at Hyson Green facilitate group therapy programs and provide individual therapy for the Out-Patient and/or In-Patient Day Program.

We are seeking talented people who are passionate about delivering high quality, evidence-based treatments to the community; committed to improving their professional knowledge and skills within an enriching clinical environment; and can work cohesively within a supportive team structure.

 

Your main duties will include:
  • Provide professional health services that include assessment, formulation, counselling, therapeutic intervention, case management, consultation and referrals as required.
  • Develop and deliver group therapy programs and therapeutic interventions for clients attending Hyson Green Day Program and/or In-Patient program.
  • Work of a multi-disciplinary team in order to meet the goals of Hyson Green.

 

About you

  • MANDATORY:

    • Tertiary Qualifications in Psychology.
    • Professional registration with AHPRA to practice as a Psychologist.
    • Appropriate clinical experience, including demonstrated skills in assessment, treatment, therapeutic intervention, group work, case management, and casework.
    • Demonstrated ability to design and deliver effective group programs for patients and their families.

    DESIRABLE:

    • Demonstrated high order ability in liaising with VMOs and their reception staff, health funds and hospital staff through a strong customer focus
    • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
    • Effective communication skills, both written and oral - in particular, an ability to develop and maintain rapport with clients and other health care professionals.
    • Appropriate computer skills and ability to learn and use new IT systems.
