About the role

As the Registered Nurse Grade 2 (Year 1–2) – Permanent Part-Time, you are responsible for providing clinical leadership to staff and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements to enable us to continue to deliver a high standard of care, services and most importantly a quality lifestyle for our residents.

WK 1 - Tuesday from 9:15pm to 1:15 am and WK2 Tuesday & Thursday 9:15pm to 7:15am 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Permanent Part-Time position.
  • Availability to work Tuesday and Thursday night shifts, with flexibility to work additional shifts as required.
  • Practice in accordance with Calvary and relevant Government Health policies and procedures, the position description, Code of Conduct and industrial agreements.
  • Giving direct care to a specific patient population within each unit.
  • Evaluating outcomes of care and initiating appropriate follow-up.
  • To maintain a discharge plan for each patient from admission to discharge.
  • To participate in the team leader role.
  • Upholding the principles and practices of infection control by observing Infection Control Guidelines and Standard Precautions as outlined in the Infection Control Manual.
  • Ensuring familiarity in Emergency Procedures through annual updates.
  • Maintenance of annual competencies and those competencies required to fulfil the needs of the specific area of expertise.

About you

  • Registered Nurse Grade 2 (Year 1–2) with current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • High level of commitment, integrity, honesty and trustworthiness.
  • An effective listener with the ability to communicate at all levels both orally and in writing.
  • Understanding of and ability to manage human resource issues with effective negotiation skills.
  • Ability to understand and use information technology and programs such as Word, Excel, etc. and to learn new skills as required.
  • Current National Police Check.
  • Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Demonstrated experience in a similar role in aged care or health care.
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organisation.
