About you

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment. Provide key information about the role.  The team in the Day of Surgery Admission (DOSA) Unit work in a highly collaborative environment to provide a high level perioperative care to patients being for admitted for a variety of elective surgical procedures.  This also includes the care of patients undergoing day procedures.  They Unit it operational from Monday to Friday with both afternoon and morning shifts.  They are looking for highly motivated Registered Nurses up to 0.8 FTE (FTE negotiable for the right candidate).  This is a permanent position. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Patient Hospital Admission including perioperative preparation, risk assessment and mitigation
  • Post operative clinical care
  • Patient education
  • Contributing to efficient Patient flow through the organisation
  • Work as part of collaborative team committed to patient safety and quality care

What you bring 

  • At least 2 years acute hospital experience
  • Surgical Nursing experience advantageous
  • Sound critical thinking and judgement skills
  • Availability for rostering across morning and afternoon shifts
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience in an acute care and/or hospital setting
  • Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
