About you

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment. Provide key information about the role. The Day of Surgery Admissions (DOSA) unit is responsible for the peri-operative management of patients having planned elective surgery and the ongoing care of patients have day procedures.  The unit operates Monday to Friday (excluding night shift) covered by various shift length across the morning and afternoon.  It is a dynamic team-based environment that works collaboratively with the greater health care team. This is a Maternity leave cover commencing February 2026 for 12 months.

  • Patient Hospital admission and perioperative preparation
  • Facilitate patient flow
  • Patient admissions and discharge education
  • Clinical Patient care
  • Shift Co-ordination

What you bring 

  • Minimum 2 years Registered Nurse experience in the Acute care setting
  • Surgical Nursing/Peri-operative Nursing experience desirable 
  • Strong organisational skills
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience in an acute care and/or hospital setting
  • Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
