As a Registered Nurse with Surgical Services, you will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, and appropriate patient care within a patient-focused environment. This role offers the opportunity to further develop surgical nursing skills with the support of a dedicated Nurse Educator.

Ward 4B is a 30-bed unit providing care to adult patients across a broad range of surgical specialties. These include, but are not limited to, general surgery, colorectal, stomal therapy, gastroenterology, plastics, management of skin lesions (including melanoma), oncology-related procedures such as mastectomy and breast reconstruction (DIEP), and cardiothoracic surgery.

Successful applicants will have the opportunity to build their clinical capability in surgical nursing, including the development of advanced skills in managing patients requiring 1:1 acute post-operative care, supported by an experienced clinical education team.

Employment details

Positions available: Permanent, Full-Time / Part-Time positions available

Salary Classification: Registered Nurse Year 1 - 8

Remuneration: $37.48 to $52.62 per hour + super + annual leave loading

Selection criteria (Essential)

• Registered Nurse authorised to practice by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse within an acute care and/or hospital setting.
• Proven ability to work autonomously, demonstrating initiative, organisation, and efficiency during periods of high demand.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team environment.
• Well-developed communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to engage effectively with patients, families, and colleagues.

Pre-employment conditions:
