Calvary North Adelaide Hospital Endoscopy Suite is widely known as a leader in the provision of Endoscopy/Colonoscopy services in Adelaide and we are seeking enthusiastic and highly skilled Nurses join our team and to provide specialist services to our patients and provide support to all staff and medical officers. This is an exciting opportunity to join our amazing team in the historic Calvary North Adelaide building. We work closely with our surgeons to provide high quality and personalised care for our patients. We pride ourselves on being patient advocates and developing sound systems to enable this. Your main duties will include:
- Provide direct patient care within the Endoscopy Suite, ensuring safe, compassionate and patient-centred care at all times.
- Provide direct clinical support to Visiting Medical Officers within the Endoscopy Unit during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Prepare, maintain and troubleshoot endoscopy equipment in accordance with infection control standards, manufacturer guidelines and hospital policies.
- Assist with pre-operative and post-procedure patient assessment, monitoring and recovery care.
- Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation and patient records are maintained.
- Support safe medication administration and monitoring in accordance with clinical protocols.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised clinical environment, adhering to all WHS and infection prevention standards.
- Participate in quality improvement activities, accreditation processes and ongoing education initiatives.
- Work collaboratively with nursing, medical and support staff to deliver high-quality and efficient patient care.
- Actively contribute to a positive team culture that promotes clinical excellence, professionalism and continuous improvement.
- Provide education and reassurance to patients and families throughout their procedural journey.
- Assist with stock control, equipment checks and ordering of clinical supplies as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, patient-centred nursing care within the Endoscopy Suite, including patient assessment, monitoring and recovery support.
- Assist Visiting Medical Officers during endoscopic procedures and ensure the safe preparation, maintenance and management of endoscopy equipment.
- Contribute to a culture of clinical excellence through effective teamwork, adherence to infection control standards and commitment to best practice care.
- Recent and relevant acute Endoscopy/Colonoscopy experience, with a view to developing into the interventional Gastroenterology service.
- Current AHPRA registration
- Strong organisation and prioritisation skills
