Staff Specialist - Palliative Care

The Staff Specialist is responsible for the performance of clinical duties as determined by the Director of Palliative Care. These duties can include hospice inpatient, hospital and community consultations, outpatient services and community services.
About you
- A primary medical degree registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (accredited by the Specialist Advisory Committee in Palliative Care) or Fellowship of the Australasian Chapter of Palliative Medicine OR other specialist recognition as provided for the NSW (Non-Declared) AHO Staff Specialist Agreement or the Health Insurance Act 1973
- Experience in the management of Palliative Care patients in the community, hospital and/or inpatient palliative care unit setting
- Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and willingness to participate in clinical research
- Able to work proficiently unsupervised and as a member of a multidisciplinary team during periods of high demand and activity
- Understanding of the principles of clinical governance to promote quality and safety in health care, with experience in and commitment to evidence based best practice
- Demonstrated effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
