Support Worker - Home Care

Calvary - Home Care ACT

Permanent Part time

  • Must be available for a minimum of 3 days per week (weekends excluded).
  • Availability from either 7:00 am–1:00 pm or 1:00 pm–7:00 pm.

About the role

As a Support Worker your role will be to assist a diverse range of aged care clients with activities of daily living and providing support services such as Domestic Assistance, Social Support, Respite and Personal Care at their home and in the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing personal care (e.g., showering, grooming, dressing)
  • Assisting with domestic tasks (cleaning, meal prep, laundry)
  • Driving safely between clients’ homes and transporting them to appointments (own vehicle required)
  • Supporting daily routines and wellbeing
  • Reporting any changes in clients’ needs

About you

  • A Certificate III in Aged Care, Home and Community Care, Disability or Individual Support
  • Current and valid Driver’s Licence, insured, reliable motor vehicle and smart mobile phone
  • Capacity to embrace a role that is meaningful for the community and yourself
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with a customer service orientation
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage time
  • Proficiency in use of technology such as smart phones, email and internet
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organisation
