Technical Assistant
Emergency Department
Permanent Part-Time, Temporary Part-Time and casual opportunities available
- Salary Classification: Technical Assistant Grade 2 (year 1 - year 3)
- Remuneration: $33.76 - $35.05 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options.
About the Role:
The Technical Assistant will assist Medical Officers and Registered Nurses in technical procedures and associated tasks including, Venepuncture, Cannulation, ECG recording, Venous blood gas sampling, Point of Care Testing, Patient observations with direct reports to the Enrolled or Registered Nurses & completion of appropriate assessments within SDPR.
About You:
- Venepuncture and/or cannulation qualifications and/or experience
- Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
- Previous work experience in the health service/hospital environment
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and in periods of high demand and activity
- Understanding and commitment to apply the principles of Infection Prevention and Control
