  • Remuneration: $37.03 - $43.27 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options + RDO's

THE ROLE:

The clinical dietitian is responsible for providing safe, effective, and efficient nutrition care to patients and their caregivers as an essential member of the multidisciplinary team. Serving as a generalist dietitian, they will offer nutrition care across all hospital wards, ensuring services adhere to the professional and organizational standards set by the Dietetic Association of Australia, the Area Health Service, and other relevant organisations.

This is a full-time, fixed-term Level 1 Dietitian position for 12 months. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply, and an eligibility list will be established for future opportunities.

The dietitian will deliver nutrition care to patients across all wards, primarily focusing on general medical patients, and will be part of a collaborative and supportive nutrition and dietetics team.

DUTIES:

  • Identify nutrition risk and undertake nutrition assessment of patients.
  • Plan, implement and monitor nutrition care for inpatients across a range of clinical areas and/ or oncology outpatients, as required.
  • Contribute knowledge and skills to support the nutrition care provided to inpatients across a range of clinical areas and/ or oncology patients undergoing chemotherapy or radiotherapy treatment as required.
  • Communicate effectively within a team environment to deliver patient focused nutrition care.
  • Apply nutrition care based on best practice to deliver safe therapeutic diets, oral, enteral and parenteral nutrition support.

ABOUT YOU:

  • Eligibility for Accredited Practising Dietitian (APD) status according to criteria set by the Dietetics Association of Australia (DAA, and holds relevant tertiary education qualifications).
  • Demonstrated knowledge applying nutrition support across a range of clinical areas
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated skill to work independently and function effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to own personal and professional development and safe work practice
