  • Salary Classification:  Occupational Therapist Level 3, Year 1 - 2
  • Remuneration: $56.69 to $58.52 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options

 

About the role

The Occupational Therapist Level 3 with the Department of Palliative Care is a member of the multidisciplinary team that provides care to Hospice inpatients and registered patients of the outpatient Palliative Care Outreach Service. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, review and evaluation of occupational therapy programs and treatment.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Timely Occupational Therapy assessments and intervention for Hospice inpatient and Palliative Care Outreach patients
  • Prescription, and instruction of its use where needed, of equipment, devices or alterations to enhance function and promote ease of care in the home and/or hospice setting
  • Involvement and contribution to departmental and hospital meetings and groups including education, research and quality improvement
  • Involvement in the multidisciplinary team including liaising with internal and external stakeholders for patient care planning and continuity of care
  • Assist with the Fig Tree Day Hospice Program including assessments, group planning, facilitation and evaluation as required

What you bring 

  • Recognised completed degree in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration
  • Recent demonstrated experience working as an OT in a clinical setting, prior palliative care or oncology setting preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of the multidisciplinary team and unsupervised in periods of high demand
  • Current driver licence
  • Demonstrated effective communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional development
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organisation
