• Salary Classification: Technical Assistant Grade 1, Yr 1 – Grade 2, Yr 3.
• Remuneration: $30.63 - $32.40 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options.

THE ROLE:

The Technical Assistant will assist Medical Officers and Registered Nurses in technical procedures and associated tasks including, Venepuncture, Cannulation, ECG recording, Arterial blood gas sampling, Point of Care Testing and application of Plaster of Paris splints and casts.

DUTIES:

• Effectively and efficient utilisation of resources.
• Uphold the Team values of the Emergency Department.
• Support patients and their families through basic care needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and discretion in all Hospital matters.
• Participation in and support the Hospital’s Quality Improvement program, taking action to address any improvements required.

ABOUT YOU:

• Venepuncture and/or cannulation qualifications and/or experience
• Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
• Previous work experience in the health service/hospital environment
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and in periods of high demand and activity
• Understanding and commitment to apply the principles of Infection Prevention and Control
