About the role
Join Our Team as the National External Communications Lead!
The National External Communications Lead at Calvary plays a vital role in driving awareness and promoting our mission through impactful communication strategies and campaigns. You will help shape how we connect with the community and support our organisational objectives, all while contributing to our broader strategic goals.
Reporting to the National Manager of External Communications, you will play a key part in the development of our annual communications calendar and support national initiatives across Calvary’s diverse portfolio, including hospitals, home care, aged care, retirement living, and virtual care.
This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a variety of internal stakeholders to deliver high-impact communication activities and projects that align with our Mission, Values, and strategic plans. With a focus on building Calvary’s profile, you will help ensure strong community and industry engagement across a range of communication channels.

Your main duties will include:
Collaborating with the Customer and Communications team and Executive leaders to develop external communications campaigns.
Writing and producing engaging content for multiple external communication channels, including websites, social media, EDMs, and collateral.
Ensuring a consistent narrative that aligns with Calvary’s values and mission, sourcing stories and opportunities for external communications.
Supporting media enquiries and participate in the on-call roster, assisting with media commentary and briefings.
Writing media releases and articles for media and industry publications.
Developing, managing, and evaluating communication activities against KPIs while working closely with stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
About you
Essential
Tertiary qualifications in communications, journalism, or a related field.
Senior communications experience within a complex organisation.
Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively in a matrix environment to achieve team and organisational goals.
Expertise in a range of communication channels, including EDMs, videos, websites, and social media platforms.
Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills to create innovative, results-driven solutions.
Excellent interpersonal, planning, written, and oral communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
This position requires flexibility and the ability to travel for work-related purposes as needed.
Desirable
Experience in healthcare (government and/or private sectors) and digital media platforms such as SharePoint, WordPress, and EDMs.
