About the role

As the Registered Nurse you are responsible for providing clinical leadership to staff and ensuring compliance with legislative requirements to enable us to continue to deliver a high standard of care, services and most importantly a quality lifestyle for our residents. 

Seeking Registered Nurses for Calvary Home Care and Aged Care to deliver acute nursing in our Aged Care Facility in Tiwi Islands. This position is offered as a permanent full time. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all clinical aspects of Tiwi residents and community clients based in Tiwi Islands.
  • The Registered Nurse practices independently and interdependently, assuming accountability and responsibility for their own actions and delegation of care to Enrolled Nurses and Support Workers within the program, state/territory and CCC guidelines. The Registered Nurse provides evidence-based nursing care to people of all ages and cultural groups, including individuals, families and communities. 
  • The Registered Nurse assesses, plans, implements and evaluates nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary health care team so as to achieve goals and health outcomes for Calvary Aged Care and Community clients.
  • The role of the Registered Nurse includes promotion and maintenance of health and prevention of illness for individuals with physical or mental illness, disabilities and/or rehabilitation needs, as well as alleviation of pain and suffering at the end stage of life. 

What you bring

  • AHPRA nursing registration - Registered Nurse
  • Full Drivers Licence (essential) 
  • Experience in Aged Care Facility and Community Nursing in remote setting.
  • Acute nursing experience
  • Work based in Tiwi Islands working with other nurses in rotating shifts
  • Work autonomously

  • Delivering acute nursing care in Flexible Aged Care Setting in Tiwi Islands, half an hour flight from Darwin or 2.5 hours trip in a ferry.
