Staff Specialist - General Medicine
- Fixed Term contract until June 2027.
- Salary Classification: Staff Specialist Level 1 in accordance with the Staff Specialist Private Practice Remuneration Levels
Calvary Mater Newcastle is looking for a Staff Specialist to join our General Medicine team.
Located in Waratah, Calvary Mater is the major cancer care centre for Hunter New England Local Health District. The role:
The Staff Specialist will perform clinical services for inpatients admitted under the general medicine service, and participate in the bed allocation process and management of transfer of care and patient flow according to patient need and the Hospital’s requirements.
- You will provide specialist consultation within your field, including provision of outpatient services.
- Participate in after-hours services and rosters in general medicine at CMN.
- Provide clinical leadership to junior colleagues by ensuring a high standard of patient care which conforms to best practice and is evidence based.
- Demonstrate a commitment to equity of health care delivery.
Applicants for this role must hold AHRPA registration and unrestricted Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. This role is not suitable for overseas trained physicians requiring supervision.
