We’re looking for exceptional graduate nurses and midwives across Australia to join our team. In return, Calvary offers a supportive and comprehensive Transition to Professional Practice program designed to help you grow with confidence.

  • 6-month or 12-month structured transition-to-practice pathway for graduate Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Midwives.
  • Based on Calvary’s mission of hospitality, healing, stewardship and respect.
  • Combines professional education, mentorship and reflection.
  • Access to experienced Clinical Nurse Facilitators and GNTP Coordinators.
  • Available in hospitals across multiple Australian states.

Program Eligibility

To be eligible for the Calvary GNTP program, applicants must:
  • Be completing a Bachelor of Nursing (for RN), Diploma of Nursing
    (for EN), or Bachelor of Midwifery (for RM) leading to AHPRA Registration
  • Be ready to commence employment in early 2026
  • Most sites operate at a standard 0.8 FTE; please refer to individual site pages for any site-specific variations
  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or hold a visa allowing ongoing full-time employment in Australia
    (Note: Applicants with more than 3 months full-time equivalent nursing experiences are not eligible.)

For Registered Nurse (RN) graduate applicants with prior experience as an Enrolled Nurse (EN), this restriction does not apply. The 3-month experience limit only applies if you have worked in the same role you are applying for:

  • RN program → only prior RN experience counts; EN experience is irrelevant.
  • EN program → only prior EN experience counts.

Applications Open Annually 
Calvary GNTP programs open applications once a year, typically in May–July.
