About you
There is an opportunity to join us as a Registered Nurse Level 2 at Calvary Hobarts Cardiothoracic Neurosurgical (CTN) ward. Calvary Hobart is the only private hospital in the state performing Cardiothoracic Surgery. The CTN ward provides step-down care to patients post discharge from Critical Care (CCU) following Coronary Artery Bypass Grafts, Valve Replacements and Thoracic Surgery which may or may not require CCU initially. In addition CTN provides pre and post-operative step-down care for patients post Craniotomy as well as pre and post-operative care for all types of minor and major spinal surgery.
CTN is a 22 bed ward with high occupancy and dynamic turnover of patients and case mix. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivate Registered Nurse with well developed clinical knowledge and skills to step into a leadership role, working closely with the Nurse Unit Manger to support staff and ensure clinical excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Consistently and enthusiastically delivers high levels of patient service to exceed patient expectations.
Delegates aspects of care to others according to their competence and scope of practise and provides effective and timely direction and supervision to ensure that delegated care is provided safely & accurately.
Knowledge of and a demonstrated commitment to quality processes and evidence based practises, identifying areas for improvement and contributing to these improvements.
Practice in accordance with Calvary and relevant Government Health policies and procedures, the position description, Code of Conduct and industrial agreements.
Works in accordance with all policy and procedures pertaining to ACQSHC National Standards and ensures this guides the delivery of safe and quality care.
What you bring
AHPRA registration, with a current practicing certificate.
COVID-19 vaccination is a mandatory requirement unless assessed exempt
Working with Vulnerable People Check
Practices in accordance with ACQSHC National standards (and any other relevant standards to area of practice).
Demonstration of maintenance of CPD points.
Demonstrated clinical competence in area of specialty if required.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
