  • We are seeking Operating Theatre Assistants - Permanent Part-Time / Temporary Part-Time and Casual roles available 
  • Salary Classification: Anaesthetic/Operating Theatre Technician
  • Remuneration: $32.41 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options.

 

About the role

The Operating Theatre Assistant is essential to the process flow of the operating theatre and works under the direction of the Nurse Manager. This position involves a seven-day roster with on-call and overtime responsibilities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the transfer of patients to and from the Operating Theatre.
  • Assist with transfers and positioning of patients in the operating theatre (once competency has been assessed).
  • Assist with the application of Diathermy plates and positioning equipment within the operating theatre suite (once competency has been assessed).
  • Maintains a safe and clean environment by regularly dry/wet mopping before, during and after theatre lists.

What you bring

  • Recent experience in an Operating theatre environment.
  • Strong willingness to learn.
  • Commitment to customer service.
  • Demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work proficiently in periods of high demand and activity.
