About you

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment. Provide key information about the role. St Johns is situated in  beautiful Hobart. Simpson Unit is a surgical unit specialising in Plastics, ENT, Gynae, General surgery and Neuro surgery. Paediatric surgery is also one of our specialities. 

Key Responsibilities

• Management of shift as a surgical speciality
• Support the NUM and the team as a clinical expert
• Providing leadership in conjunction with the senior nursing group.  
• Oversight of key portfolios in conjunction with the NUM 

What you bring 

• Minimum of 3 years surgical experience. Paediatric experience is favourable but not necessary.
• AHPRA Registration
• Demonstrated recent clinical experience in an acute care and/or hospital setting
• Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
• Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
• A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
