We are seeking Oncology and/or Haematology trained Registered Nurses who are compassionate about cancer care to join our dedicated clinical team in the Day Chemotherapy Unit (Kimberley House) at Calvary North Adelaide Hosptial .
The Day Chemotherapy Unit, comprising of 12 day recliners is fast paced with a dynamic throughput of patients. It provides treatment and chemotherapy for patients with complex oncology and haematology needs.
You will provide evidenced based nursing care including a comprehensive assessment of patients receiving chemotherapy/immunotherapy and supportive treatments; and deliver education and support to patients/carers for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs.
These are permanent part-time positions working days across Monday to Friday working with a passionate team dedicated to delivering excellence in cancer care.
About You
The successful candidate will have proven clinical proficiency in Oncology and Haematology nursing, including patient assessment, treatments and protocols. They will be competent and confident in developing and maintaining high standards of care. The ability to individualise patient care and be responsive to patients and their families’ needs is paramount within our unit.
Selection Criteria
- Current AHPRA Registration
- Minimum 3 years nursing experience including in Oncology / Haematology
- Current ADAC qualification Version 4, i.e. eviQ education program
- Experience administering cytotoxic chemotherapy and/or related cancer treatments
- Competency in PICC, PORT and IV Cannulation skills
- Must be able to work collaboratively, as well as independently, and respectfully in a small supportive team
- Ability to think critically and decisively is imperative to the position
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritise conflicting demands and manage time efficiently
- High level computer literacy
