Position Description

Registered Nurse - Pre Admission Clinic - Permanent Full Time and  Part Time Position available

  • The Preadmission unit is an outpatient unit that operates Mon-Fri 0700-1630. Hours are open to be negotiated either full or part time within operating hours.
About the role
 
 The Preadmission team provide face to face patient care in an outpatient setting. They conduct assessments, complete appropriate paperwork and communicate information to the patient and their families regarding care, discharge procedures and follow up requirements. 
 
They liaise with the multidisciplinary team and stakeholders regarding patient care requirements and inform management of any impact on organisational requirements.

The Preadmission unit is an outpatient unit that operates Mon-Fri 0700-1630. Hours are open to be negotiated either full or part time within operating hours.

Your main duties will include:
  • Using a patient centred approach to patient assessment
  • Working closely within our multidisciplinary team unit and liaising with external stakeholders. 
  • Provide direct care to a specific outpatient population both pre and post surgery.
  • Full orientation and job specific training will be provided.
About you
  • Registered as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
  • Demonstrated effective communication, organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently within a supported team environment
  • Competence in use of computer applications relevant to the work area, e.g. word processing and clinical information systems
