The Director of Medical Services, Research and Digital Health is a part‑time senior executive leadership role (3 days per week) at Calvary Health Care Kogarah (CHCK), offering a unique opportunity to shape high‑quality, compassionate medical care within a values‑driven Catholic health service.
As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Director provides strategic and operational leadership across medical administration, clinical governance and professional standards, while fostering excellence in patient‑centred care. The role supports and leads CHCK’s medical workforce, partnering closely with Medical Directors, senior clinicians and executive colleagues to ensure safe, effective and ethical clinical practice.
In addition to medical governance, the Director plays a pivotal role in driving research and innovation, overseeing CHCK’s Research Program, Clinical Trials and governance frameworks, and building strong partnerships with academic institutions and professional colleges.
The position also leads the Digital Health portfolio, including the implementation of the Single Digital Patient Record (SDPR) and virtual health initiatives, supporting contemporary models of care and integrated service delivery across hospital and community settings.
This part‑time executive role is ideal for an experienced medical leader seeking a flexible leadership opportunity, who is passionate about clinical excellence, research, digital transformation and developing the medical workforce, and who is motivated to lead within an organisation committed to healing, stewardship and respect for the dignity of every person.
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Medical Practitioner, with Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Medical Administrators (FRACMA) and/or specialist recognition as defined in the Staff Specialists (State) Award, or actively working towards FRACMA and/or other relevant postgraduate qualifications applicable to the role.
- Demonstrated senior or executive management experience within a health care organisation, including responsibility for strategic planning, medical administration and governance, and medical workforce management and planning.
- Demonstrated senior management experience in clinical governance, clinical leadership and clinical research/ethics, including providing clinical leadership in the design and delivery of programs and services.
- Demonstrated high-level competence in interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise, consult, collaborate, influence and negotiate with all levels of the health sector, the community and professional and academic bodies to support organisational strategy and align with operational activity.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in managing quality assurance, patient safety programs and medicolegal issues within a hospital setting, with a proven ability to initiate, foster and monitor an environment of clinical excellence.
- Demonstrated commitment to leading and supporting education, training and research, underpinned by a background in research.
- Ability to work within the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care Kogarah.
